O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) was established in the year of 2009 as a philanthropic initiative by its Chancellor, Mr. Naveen Jindal in the loving memory of his father, Mr. O.P. Jindal. JGU is youngest and the only new Indian university to break into top 1000 in the prestigious Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2020.

O.P. Jindal Global University has been awarded the highest grade ‘A’ by the National Accreditation & Assessment Council (NAAC), and recently JGU has been recognized as the ‘Institution of Eminence‘ (IoE) by the Ministry of Human Resource Development

JGU is a research intensive University, which has established eight schools and several research centers. The mission of JGU is to promote global courses, global programmes, global curriculum, global research, global collaborations, and global interaction through a global faculty.

The doctoral programme at JGU will give entrants the opportunity to take up rigorous courses in different disciplines across all the schools, tailored to both their broad academic growth and the specialized needs of their own research. The time you spend in JGU PhD  program will challenge you intellectually to deepen your thinking as an emerging Ph.D. scholar so you too can take your place among the leaders in our chosen profession.

JGU is one of the few universities in Asia that maintains a 1:10 faculty student ratio and appoints faculty members from different parts of the world with outstanding academic qualifications and experience. The JGU faculty who have a wide range of substantive and methodological expertise,

are integrally involved in the Ph.D programme as supervisors and co- supervisors.  
  

In a nutshell, JGU in its entirety will chase fundamental knowledge in critical areas of social science; it will identify, attract, and nurture talent to generate a strong force of young social scientists equipped to face the challenges of a new India, and open its doors to work jointly with like-minded individuals and institutions around the world.
